We are looking for a full-time Sales Associate to join our sales team. Rugged Radios specializes in communication products used in high noise environments such as racing, aviation, motocross, off road, industrial, agriculture, retail, wholesale, fire, and police.

Known as The Authority in Communications, Rugged Radios is located on the Central Coast of California in the city of Arroyo Grande. Working from home is not an option for this position. We feel there is a distinct advantage for our business to have our account managers working in the office, available for in-person meetings and face-to-face collaboration.

Our tribe consists primarily of people interested in two-way radio communication products for off-road recreational vehicles (UTV, ATV, JEEP) off-road racing, motocross, circle track racing, industrial, fire & safety and aviation.

You will be on the front lines acting as an ambassador of the company to retail sales customers both on the phone and in person.


A. Answering incoming telephone sales department calls
B. Making outbound customer engagement calls to existing customers gathering information and provide problem solving and solutions along the way
C. Assisting walk in customers who visit our showroom
D. Focus on developing and cultivating strong brand loyalty
E. Creating and processing sales quotes and orders with retail consumers
F. Constantly in a mode of attaining product knowledge through self-discovery and training

Service Technician

Our ideal candidate maintains a positive attitude and is motivated to accomplish assigned tasks as well as offer phone support for end users of our product. Customer engagement often takes place on the phone, via email or in person. The right candidate is experienced in listening skills. Technical expertise and knowledge highly desirable. A person well versed in procedures, processes, with attention to detail will succeed and prosper.

  • Oversee service orders and flow of department, ensuring customer returns, and orders receive prompt, courteous, and effective service
  • Assists R&D Department with quality control and product development
  • Provide concierge support for all customer inquiries, whether by email, phone or in person. Takes ownership of the customer's experience from start to finish leaving a positive impression
  • Distribute work between technicians efficiently providing follow up and assistance when needed
  • Answer technical questions about product problems, warranties, services, and repairs
  • Acquires and maintains up-to date product knowledge
  • Engagement with end users, dealers, and the public. Tracks their interactions with the company and keeps management informed of trends and issues


  • Organized self-starter with a “Can do” positive attitude-Team Player!
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, QuickBooks, and various other computer job related software
  • Knowledge of two-way communications and or electronic products desirable or has the capacity to learn
  • High school graduate, GED equivalent, some college, degree, or technical proficiency
  • Background in sales, retail, automotive parts, and upselling of products and or services
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
