Rugged Rambler G4 GMRS Mobile Radio
Fantastic customer service! I had a different model GMRS radio from Rugged Radio that had failed shortly after the warranty was up. I sent it in to be diagnosed by the service department hoping it could be repaired at a reasonable price. A few days later I received a call from the service department, and was told that they had found an internal problem with the radio and would be sending me a new Rambler G4 as a replacement at no cost. Two days later the new radio was delivered. Although I have not yet had time to install the Rambler G4, I want to let people know that Rugged Radios is a company that really does stand behind their products. Thank You!

Radio Kit Plus - Rambler G4 High Power GMRS Mobile Radio Kit with External Speaker
I have not received my radio yet. But I was reading another review and got confused by what someone else said. Some said they can’t save a repeater as a new channel.
Reply:
Hello Zachary, We see that you placed your order yesterday, but the radio should ship out today. You will receive an email confirmation once it does. As for the previous review when it comes to programming a repeater channel, there is no need to program your own. Once you get your GMRS license, you have access to repeaters via mygmrs.com and can request access to private repeaters or use open repeaters. You do need to collect some information and cross reference it with our user manual to see which repeater channel is the correct frequency to use. It sounds more confusing than it is, and if you would like to call someone at Rugged HQ for further clarification or assistance, you are more than welcome! (805) 541-1696 or you can visit our Repeater blog here: https://www.ruggedradios.com/blogs/news/how-to-use-gmrs-repeaters

Rugged Rambler G4 GMRS Mobile Radio
I think it’s a good radio, but there are a few cats codes missing one is 199.5 which I need to access a repeater in my area , can it be programmed in?
Reply:
Hello Terry! Thanks for your review. The CTCSS code of 199.5 is available in the tone code section of the menu. You will need to scroll further down the list of codes to find it. On the G4, 199.5 is tone number 48 on the list. For a comprehensive list of available tone codes you can refer to page 22 in the G4 user manual here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0240/3280/4960/files/G4_Mobile_Radio_User_Manual.pdf?v=1738179049

Radio Kit - Rambler G4 GMRS Mobile Radio with Antenna
I installed the G4 radio in my Bronco Raptor using the Bronco-specific mounting bracket, and the setup was clean, easy, and solid. The first weekend I used it, it already proved its value—twice. While approaching the top of a steep dune, my group was able to warn me of an oncoming vehicle climbing from the other side. That heads-up gave me just enough time to avoid a collision. Later that day, I blew a tire while spaced out from the group in a cell phone dead zone. Thanks to the G4’s range and clarity, I was able to call my friends and let them know what happened. The radio is easy to use, super clear, and the power output gives it excellent range. If you do any serious overlanding or off-roading, this radio isn’t a luxury… it’s an essential piece of gear.

Radio Kit - Rambler G4 GMRS Mobile Radio with Antenna
There are several things that makup a great toolkit when you go out offroading. Jack, tire iron or impact wrench, air compressor, etc. One of the things that most people do not think about is effective communications devices. Rugged Radios and the G4 Rambler kit has taking my tool kit to a whole new on-road as well as off-road level. This radio not only looks great but it also performs great. Effective comms in any situation is a must have, if you are lacking in that department you most certainly need to step up your game and introduce yourself to not only a great product, a great company as well. The customer service techs are a great group of people always attentive to what your questions and concerns maybe.
