I recently purchased the V3 with the helmet kit, and I have to say, I’m quite disappointed with the product, especially considering the price. After setting up the kit on my helmet, I went to test it out. The first issue I encountered was that the button wouldn’t work with the walkie-talkie; instead of toggling, it caused the channel to hot mic. However, the walkie-talkie works just fine on its own, which makes this issue even more frustrating. Then, I tested the speakers using the weather channel, only to find that the right speaker was working, while the left one was completely silent. Overall, this experience has left me frustrated and underwhelmed.

SUPER SPORT Complete Motorcycle Communication Kit with Lightweight SPORT Cables GMR2 Plus

I looked at every off-road communication system on the market. Rugged had been on my radar, but I wanted to make sure more of the bluetooth/mesh systems fit my needs. I ride with my two children as well as friends and family every now and then. What eventually sold me on the Rugged system was the simplicity and plug and play nature. I did not want to deal with setting up multiple devices by myself when going to ride. With the GMR2 radios we just find our channel and head out. I also love that the only time we hear each other is when we press the ptt. It makes the batteries last all day and cuts down on unnecessary chatter. The Super Sport kit is perfect for me and my kids and so far we haven't had a need to upgrade cables. The PTTs are, as the name states, rugged with some simple design choices such as foam in the velecro wrap that make it a better product than others. On our last big ride we were at Loretta Lynns Ranch Fall Ride. The woods are dense and there are quite a few folks on radios. We had an issue on the trail and one member of our group had to head back to the truck to grab parts and tools. We were able to communicate with him the whole time, through thick forest and rolling hills. When he showed back up we were good to go; no mesh network to heal. We now have 6 of these kits to share with family/ friends when we ride. We do wait for them to go on sale before buying, but Rugged has frequent sales. Overall 10/10, and we would absolutely do it again.

Quality of setup is very good, easy to mount and use. Ordered the helmet mount bracket but it does not work with this lightweight setup. One issue is there is a volume threshold to get the speakers to work that's a little too loud for my comfort.
